SWAT: The police here on Wednesday arrested an alleged terrorist from Manrrai area of Matta tehsil for his alleged involvement in terrorist acts.
Matta police while giving details of the arrest said, Behramand alias Amanullah, a resident of Manrrai was wanted by law enforcement agencies for his anti-state activities during the Swat insurgency from 2007 to 2009.
He was arrested by counter-terrorism department of police on a tip-off from Manrrai village and shifted to unspecified location for further investigation.
Matta tehsil was a stronghold of Swat militants where they had established their own courts, police stations and punishment cells.
Meanwhile, security forces demolished the house of a wanted militant at Dherai village in Kabal tehsil.
According to local police, security forces demolished the house of Suleman who was allegedly involved in facilitating target killers and militants.
The security forces have eliminated militancy from Swat valley by conducting a successful military operation in 2009 and demolished hundreds of houses of the absconded militants.
